Discharge of oil as per Annex-1

bullet Cargo ships of less 400GT to discharge when the content of the oil or oily water mixture without dilution is not more than 15ppm.

 

bullet Processed bilge water generated from machinery spaces of tankers (150 GT and above) and cargo ships (400GT and above) are allowed to discharge if following conditions are met:
bullet Ship is not in special areas.
bullet Not generated in pumproom.
bullet No oil residue mixed.
bullet Ship in en-route.
bullet Oil content not more than 15ppm.
bullet Ship has operational oil filtering equipment.
bullet Automatic stopping device fitted to ensure not more than 15ppm oil discharge.

Oil tankers, tank cleaning bilges can be discharged if:

Ship is not within special areas.

bullet

Ship is en route.

bullet

Distance is more than 50 miles from the nearest land.

bullet

Discharge rate is not more than 30Liters/Mile.

bullet

Total quantity of oil is not more than 1/15,000 for old tankers and 1/30,000 for new tankers from cargo residue.
